Calendar of Events 2008

Fort Ticonderoga Opens for Season May 10, 2008

From May 10th through October 20th, Fort Ticonderoga is open daily, including holidays, 9am to 5pm. Interpreters in period uniforms tell the story of the Fort throughout the day. Weather permitting, they will offer a musket demonstration. In July and August (weather permitting), artillery demonstrations occur daily and the Fife & Drum Corps entertains with martial music. The King's Garden is open June 1st - October 13th for tours from 10am to 4pm. Groups need to reserve in advance.
Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

Family Workshop Program, "Color My Garden." Families will learn about the use of color, texture, and spacing to design their own vegetable or flower garden. Thompson-Pell Research Center from 10:00am to Noon. There is a $5 fee per child—parents are free.

Family Workshop Program, "Life in the Continental Army" 10:00am to noon - Learn about life in the Continental Army, including the role of women, on the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Hands-on skills teaching. Thompson-Pell Research Center. $5 per child, parents free.

Arbor Day Tree Walk - Explore the landscape of early spring in search of native and introduced tree species.

Public Program "Iroquois Legends," 10:00am to Noon- Darren Bonaparte, a Mohawk living historian, tells stories that form the cultural history of the People of the Long House. Families welcome. Support from the South Lake Champlain Fund enables all to attend this program free of charge. Deborah Clarke Mars Education Center.

Grand Encampment of the Seven Years' War commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Carillon. 
Reenactors depicting French, Canadian, British, Provincial, and Native American forces come together to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Carillon in 1758.

Independence Day- Celebrate Independence Day and America's First Victory of the American Revolution. Readings of the Declaration of Independence throughout the day.

Day of Scots - A gathering of clans and representatives from international Black Watch Regiments commemorate the fallen soldiers of the 42nd Highland Regiment with a parade and memorial service at the Scottish Cairn.
