New York Social Studies Standards at Fort Ticonderoga
Many of the New York Social Studies Standards can be addressed using the
resources at Fort Ticonderoga. Three examples follow:
#1 History of the United States and New York
 | Students should be able to "weigh the importance, reliability, and
validity of evidence." Students should be able to "consider
different interpretations of key events and/or issues in history and
understand the differences in these accounts." |

causation," and "view historic events through the eyes of those
who were there, as shown in their art, writings, music, and artifacts." |
#3 Geography
| Students should be able to "ask geographic questions about where places
are located; why they are located where they are; what is important about their
locations; and how their locations are related to the location of other people
and places."
