The Fort viewed from the East

Fort Ticonderoga is fortunate to have numerous historic buildings as a significant aspect of its collections. When the French began building a fort at Ticonderoga in 1755, little did they know that shortly after the end of the American Revolution millions of peaceful visitors would come to visit the ruins and then the restored Fort Ticonderoga. Among the architectural treasures in the Fort collection are the restored fortress, the 1826 Pavilion, and various early 20th century buildings designed for fort infrastructure including the Gate House and the Pavilion Garage.
